About Us

ABOUT US

Laddoo Foundation was born out of the desire to make a difference in others’ lives.

Laddoos are synonymous with happiness, celebrations and sweetness. Much like a small laddoo can bring light to someone’s day, we believe small efforts can create big smiles.

Our focus is on the underprivileged children of Gujarat. These children are creative and intelligent, with unlimited potential. However, they lack the academic resources and support to thrive and grow. The pandemic worsened the issue by disrupting education in rural areas, causing children to fall behind in learning and struggle to perform as they progressed from one grade to the next.

That’s where we come in. We provide academic tutoring and resources to children to fill these gaps and skills-based activities for an all-rounded learning experience. You can learn more about our work here.

OUR IMPACT

Since our inception in 2013, our primary focus has been promoting equal opportunity for children through education and resources. We initially focused on providing skills-based training and education. However, post-pandemic, we pivoted to syllabus-based learning on realising that there was a more significant issue to tackle: children’s knowledge not matching their grade level.

We started the ‘Padhe Chalo’ (link to Padhe Chalo page) campaign in 2022 and are conducting it in 2 schools in rural Gujarat. With your support (link to donate page), we can scale our efforts and impact more children in the future.

Once the Padhe Chalo Campaign has run for a while, you can use impact figures such as:

  • Total no. of tuition classes conducted for Stds 1-3 and Std 9-10. You can also make this no. of hours spent for a higher number.
  • Total no. of students impacted through tuition and skills-based learning.
  • How many students continued further secondary education from the schools you work in compared to pre-campaign figures?
  • The average marks students got pre-campaign in a subject (Gujarati, English, and Arithmetic, to name a few) versus post-campaign.

I spent many years thinking about how I could contribute to a better future. I knew I wanted children to be the focus as they shape tomorrow. I was startled to see how most children belonged to underprivileged families and did not have the means to break out of poverty and reach their highest potential.

The day I decided to bring them maximum support and contribute to their future was when Laddoo Foundation's journey began. With the support of young believers, we started taking small steps toward the betterment of underprivileged children. At first, we began distributing laddoos to them as part of mid-day school meals as a chance to know and understand them better. Soon, we progressed to celebrating children's birthdays with Laddoo cake and then contributing to their education, health, hygiene and more.

Our primary focus is education, providing children with the academic support, resources and activities they need to reach their full potential. We are also working on introducing a fully transparent and productive mode for others to contribute towards a child's present and future. It is based on the idea that anyone who wants to sponsor or donate for a child understands everything there is to know about the child, where and how their contribution is being used, and how the child is progressing and benefiting from it.
